📚What are the 3 pillars of authentic Ruqya?📚

1. it must be from the Qur’an and the Sunnah
2. it must be performed in the Arabic language
3. the Raqi (who reads the Ruqya) and the Murtaqi (on whom it is read) must both be convinced that the effect of the Ruqya is from Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala alone when HE gives the cure.

The angel Jibril (alaihi salam) also treated the Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wa Sallam with this type of ruqya when he fell ill and he SallAllahu alaihi wa Sallam also treated many sahaba (worshippers) with it and the sahaba in turn treated others in this way.

A’isha (radiAllahu anha) reported that when the Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wa Sallam fell ill, Jibril recited (the following), “In the name of Allah, I make Ruqya for you, from anything that might harm you, from the evil of any soul or envious look, may Allah heal you, in the name of Allah, I make Ruqya for you.” (“Bismillahi arqika, min kulli shay’in yu’dhika, min sharri kulli nafsin aw ‘ayni hasidi, Allahu yashfika, bismillahi arqika.”)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ، – وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ الْهَادِ – عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ إِذَا اشْتَكَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَقَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ قَالَ بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ يُبْرِيكَ وَمِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ يَشْفِيكَ وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ وَشَرِّ كُلِّ ذِي عَيْنٍ .
