Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud’s wife Zaynab reported that Ibn Mas’ud once asked her about the ribbon she wore around her neck. She replied, “It is a ribbon containing a spell to help me.” He snatched it, destroyed it and said, “Verily, the family of Abdullah needs no Shirk! I have heard from the Messenger of Allah -peace and blessings be upon him- that he said, ‘Verily, charms, talismans and lucky charms are Shirk.'” Zaynab replied, “Why do you say such things? My eye kept twitching, so I went to so-and-so, a Jew, who put an incantation on it and it stopped twitching!” Ibn Mas’ud said, “Verily, it was only a devil who pricked your eye with his hand and when you charmed it, he went away. It would have been enough for you if you had said what the Prophet -peace and blessings be upon him- used to say.
Idhhabi l-ba’sa Rabba n-nas wa-shfi anta-shafi la shifa’ illa shifa’uka shifa’an la yughadiruhu saqama” (Remove the torment, O Lord of men, and heal it completely, for You are The True Healer. There is no healing except Your healing: a healing that is not followed by disease).

✔️Not every twitching eye is because of a jinn. It is often due to a magnesium deficiency, for example, or a nervous disorder. Wa Allahu alam.
